Eurosigns helps local school with mock interviews

As part of their commitment to supporting the local community, Eurosigns have an established relationship with Priory Community School Academy Trust, which has developed over the last ten years. They have supported the academy students for their mock interview day, the most recent taking place on Tuesday 12th July.

As well as other local businesses such as Sainsburys, the local Police force and building consulting companies, Eurosigns play the interviewer for a number of roles the pupils want to apply for ranging from Police officers, to computer analyst to hairdressing.

Each student is required to prepare a CV and a letter applying for the job that had been advertised by their Head of Careers, James Wilmot. The roleplay interviews then go ahead from representatives of the local business’s involved whom pupils imagine to be a person from the company with the available role.

‘This process helps build the confidence of the children, showing them interviews are not a scary thing’ Jodie McLean, Supplies & Logistics Manager, Eurosigns

As the day comes to an end, interviewers then choose someone to employ for the job who receive a shopping voucher as a prize. Feedback is then given where pupils are highly recommend and given comments on how they look, their use of eye-contact and how they answered the questions to help further develop their interview skills.

James Wimot, Head of Careers, Priory Community School Academy Trust commended Eurosigns work this year and said ‘Your input is invaluable and the student feedback that I have just picked up was very positive’

Eurosigns are happy with the feedback from this year and look forward to continuing to work with the school on the Mock interview Day next year!
