London Technical Advisers Group Appoints Satbir Gill as Chairman

Satbir Gill, Network Manager and Principal Designer with Hounslow Highways, has been appointed Chairman of the London Technical Advisers Group (LoTAG). The Chartered Engineer was elected at the Local Government Technical Advisors group (TAG) Council meeting in Belfast.

LoTAG maintains a technical network for local government professionals and co-opted members in the highway and transport fields. It provides a centre for professional advice and assistance for local policy development and service delivery on a London-wide basis.

Satbir is a past President of TAG and has been a member of the Council since 2007. He has been on the UK Bridges Board since 2008, UK Network Management Board since 2012 and is the past Chairman of the London Bridge Engineering Group and Highways Maintenance Steering Group for North East Sector. Satbir is also a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers Health and Safety expert panel.

''It is a great honour to be appointed as LoTAG Chairman. With our collective and ever-growing expertise, we will flourish in our mission to advise all levels of industry including local Government. Together, there is no limit to what we can achieve.'', said Satbir

During his 35 year career in civil engineering, Satbir has led complex projects both abroad and in the UK, including some funded by the World Bank and Transport for London. Satbir is currently working on a 25 year, £800 million Highways Private Finance Initiative.

Hounslow Highways is a partnership between VINCI Concessions, Ringway and BIFM – all three organisations have significant expertise in the financing, management and delivery of engineering solutions for local businesses and communities.

Rob Gillespie, Regional Director, Ringway Hounslow Highways said:” TAG is a very important organisation for the development of technical issues throughout local government. The particular needs of the capitals road network and the boroughs that administer highway and waste services will undoubtedly be well served by LoTAG and the great experience within this group.”
